Talos was the first of the production Tinkerbell class locos to be delivered in 1978, built by Roger Marsh.

It was painted in a lined red livery and was fitted with a full width spectacle plate, initially featuring very small round windows. These have since been enlarged.

Initially running alongside Tinkerbell at Tucktonia, it was during this time that Talos was converted from a marine boiler to a locomotive boiler by adding a locomotive firebox but keeping the original boiler barrel.

Since moving to Moors Valley, Talos has continued to see regular use at our Summer and Autumn galas, double heading on passenger services and hauling freight trains.

Talos has also gained a special place at the railway and with hundreds of visitors, being the loco that is used for our Footplate Experience days.
